On December 20, 2025, the Endoscopic Full-Thickness Resection and Suturing Study Group, chaired by Professor Haruhiro Inoue of our Digestive Disease Center, was held at Shinryokai-kan Memorial Hall.

The study group was first established in 2019, and this year marked its 7th meeting. Focusing on endoscopic full-thickness resection techniques as well as suturing and closure methods, the meeting featured a wide range of innovative and practical presentations from institutions across Japan, accompanied by lively and productive discussions.

Among these presentations, Dr. Kazuya Sumi from our center received the Best Presentation Award for his presentation entitled:
“A Case of Giant Colonic Perforation Successfully Closed Using a Movable Dual-Channel Endoscope (DAICE) with an External Channel.”

Congratulations to Dr. Sumi on this outstanding achievement.

We will continue to incorporate the knowledge and new ideas gained from this study group into our daily clinical practice, striving to further enhance the quality of patient care.
