The Advanced Flexible Endoscopic Surgery (A-FES) Hands-on Training Course was held on December 5–6, 2025.
This year, we welcomed many endoscopists from Japan and overseas, including participants from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Iraq, Greece, Germany, and France.
The two-day program featured active discussions and practical hands-on sessions, creating a highly engaging international educational course.
Day 1 (December 5)
The first day covered a wide range of topics in a structured format, including:
・POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy)
・Submucosal Endoscopy
・Endoscopic treatment for GERD
・Closure devices and techniques
Lectures and live demonstrations by expert faculty stimulated lively discussions and provided participants with up-to-date insights into advanced endoscopic procedures.

Day 2 (December 6)
On the second day, the course moved to Olympus Hachioji M-TEC, where participants engaged in hands-on training focused on:
・POEM from fundamental to advanced techniques
・Anti-reflux mucoplasty for GERD
・Z-POEM for Zenker’s diverticulum
・Endoscopic suturing and closure techniques using SutuART
With direct guidance from specialists in each field, participants enhanced their understanding through actual device handling and step-by-step procedural practice.

Thanks to its diverse program and internationally varied group of participants, this year’s course proved to be a highly meaningful and productive two days.
