We are pleased to announce that a paper by Dr. Yumi Kishi,
“Feasibility and Safety Profile of Non-anesthesiologist-administered Propofol During Colorectal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection: A Single-center Study of 454 Procedures”
has been published in DEN Open. Read the article
This study evaluated the feasibility and safety profile of non-anesthesiologist-administered propofol (NAAP) during colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) across a wide range of patient ages.
The results showed that colorectal ESD was successfully completed across all age groups without sedation-related procedure termination or escalation of care. Older age and longer procedure duration were associated with selected sedation-related adverse events.
These findings provide clinically relevant insights into appropriate sedation management and risk assessment for the safe performance of colorectal ESD.
Congratulations, Dr. Kishi!
