We are pleased to announce that a paper by Dr. Manabu Onimaru,
“Changes in endoscopic pressure study integrated system (EPSIS) parameters after antireflux surgery and their association with postoperative clinical outcomes”
has been published in Surgical Endoscopy.PubMed
This study evaluated functional changes in the antireflux barrier before and after antireflux surgery (ARS) for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) using the endoscopic pressure study integrated system (EPSIS) and investigated their association with postoperative clinical outcomes.
Maximum intragastric pressure (IGPmax) significantly increased after surgery, and greater increases were associated with favorable postoperative clinical outcomes.
These findings suggest that intragastric pressure measurement using EPSIS may be useful for functional assessment after antireflux surgery.
Congratulations, Dr. Onimaru!
