The 3rd Functional Endoscopy Conference was held under the concept of “Understanding gastrointestinal motility through endoscopic imaging.”
Since its launch in 2024, this conference has reached its third edition, continuing to focus on functional gastrointestinal disorders and the evolving role of endoscopy.

The meeting featured comprehensive discussions on the diagnosis and management of functional diseases, particularly gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), covering both fundamental concepts and the latest advances.
In the educational sessions, Prof. Yasuhiro Fujiwara (Department of Gastroenterology, Osaka Metropolitan University) delivered a lecture on the pathophysiology of refractory GERD, and Dr. Motoyuki Kuribayashi (Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine), presented the clinical significance of high-resolution manometry (HRM) in GERD.
Practical lectures and live demonstrations highlighted the use of the endoscopic pressure study integrated system (EPSIS) for intragastric pressure assessment, as well as the endoscopic functional study integrated system (EFSIS), which integrates EPSIS with HRM to enable real-time, dynamic evaluation of the anti-reflux mechanism, including esophageal peristalsis.

An active general discussion on the current status and future perspectives of functional endoscopy concluded the meeting, which was successfully completed with lively participation.
The knowledge and insights gained from this conference will be applied to future clinical practice and research.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the speakers and participants for their valuable contributions and attendance.
